HER BEST STYLE: Though she wears it much shorter, tighter and "thinner"now, we liked the look she displayed as a daytime news anchor at CNN - thick, covering her shoulders with a bit of inner curl. (If someone has a picture from that era to share, we'd like to see it.)

HISTORY: This head of hair has made an amazing transformation over several years -- yet has made hair fans' eyes widen at every turn. It was long, soft and stunning on cable TV - then trimmed into a tight helmet (and somehow darkened) for the public TV program "HealthWeek."

These days as an investigative reporter at CBS, she walks a remarkable hair tightrope with a short side part. Our background photo shows the "long side" seemingly tucked behind her right ear. Even though it has a long way to go, and droops forward once in awhile, it stays there tenaciously. Yet recently, she's let the right side drop -- and it still sits there obediently, like a well-sprayed wall.
