Lorianne Crook

BORN: 2/19/57, Wichita, KS

INDUCTED: 2021, Veterans Committee

Country music is known for women in famous hairstyles, including several in this hall. Lorianne Crook has been around them - first during high school and college in Nashville, then on television. But as a journalist instead of a performer, Crook's approach to hairstyles has been more about professionalism than glamour or evocative effect.

Crook became famous alongside Charlie Chase on cable TV's Nashville Network. Her best-known styles are medium-long with light bangs. But Crook also has had seasons of short cuts, stopping at her neck. In any case, careful preparation makes sure the hair rarely collapses on-camera.

Crook's cut has stayed largely unchanged as she's aged. The only noticeable change seems to come when she grows out the bangs. Consistancy with an outstanding style has made this woman as much of a Hall of Fame member as the stars she interviews.
