Texas has a reputation for great, big hairstyles, and Lisa Whelchel represents that well. From a town west of Lubbock, Disney found her and gave her a place in a 1970s version of the Mickey Mouse Club. That led Whelchel to her best-known role as the perfect preppy in the TV comedy The Facts of Life.
