Laura Wright

BORN: 9/11/70, Clinton, MD

INDUCTED: 2021, 81-percent majority

Laura Wright's hair is not always the most perfect in the world - yet her fans seem to like it that way. She's built a reputation for showing large, thick and sometimes stressed-out styles on the daytime drama General Hospital. They keep viewers guessing about what will happen to her mane next.

Wright took over the role of Carly Corinthos in 2005, after appearing in other "soaps." Long layers often keep her style at the brink of collapse, especially during confrontations with notorious off-and-on lover Sonny. Wright's character hasn't made many friends in Port Charles through the years, adding to the daily tress tension.

Away from TV, Wright's hair is naturally curly - and she's not afraid to show that, either on a glamourous red carpet or playfully online. But the blown-straight TV look has been most successful with Hair Fans. Wright won the Crown Award for Best Hairstyle on Television in 2010 (topping fellow Hall of Fame member Danielle Fishel), followed by the first-ever award in the spinoff category Best Hairstyle in a Soap Opera/Telenovela in 2019. Supporters clearly believe "GH" stands for great hair, and that she has the "Wright stuff" for dramatic success.
