STYLE OF THE MONTH, page 3

FEBRUARY 2000: sweeping side-part

This is more of a wind-blown look, as if a breeze wore down the spray. Yet the forehead remains clean (unfortunately, the top of her head was trimmed by our picture), apparently because the teased part is still solidly in place. There's also still plenty of curl - and the curl closest to the right eye looks like it might fly above the eye if a gust tossed it that way.

This picture shows a slight variation of the super-style that's more professional looking, and at the same time more protective. The hair is set even farther back, and appears slicked down as if with mousse. The streamlined style has less curl, but the mid-strand area could still be "locked down" with spray.

SUMMARY: With careful preparation at several levels, along with a bit of caution in daily activity, even side-parted long hair can have a long-lasting look of elegance - and even survive well through strong challenges from weather.

WHO IS THIS WOMAN? We'd like to give credit where it's due.... and maybe chat with her about how she keeps her hair in such great shape! All we know is that she was a fashion model in the early to mid-1990's, for either Macy's or Federated Department Stores. If you can help identify her, contact us: superhair@email.com
