"Hair like spun gold," is how one person described Kristina Abernathy in voting for her induction. She modestly has described herself as a "weather nerd" at cable TV's Weather Channel. But since arriving there from southwest Georgia in 1995, she's emerged from the staff of meteorologists with a well-rounded layered style that grabs Hair Fans' interest.
Viewers get to see this style from all angles when Abernathy reviews
weather maps. This side view, offered for those who might like to copy the look, shows
a slightly off-center part. The layers compensate for that -- with bangs at the forehead,
then at least two longer lengths stopping at the shoulders. Abernathy likes to tuck hair
behind the ears at times, to keep the style extra-secure.
Abernathy made a strong first impression with Hair Fans,
becoming a Super-Hair Wars undefeated champion early in 2001. That success earned
her immediate promotion to the Top Ten Tresses list, where she lasted for nine
months. To our knowledge, her Super-Hair remains undefeated -- and viewers
consider her a ray of sunshine, no matter what the forecast.
