While many people consider Olivia Hussey a British beauty, she was born in South America with a father who sang tango tunes. She moved away from her given last name Osuna while growing up in London. After performing in the West End as a teen, movie director Franco Zeffirelli said her youthful "natural beauty" - undoubtedly including her long hair - earned her worldwide fame.
Zeffirelli cast Hussey in her most famous movie role, the female lead of 1968's Romeo and Juliet. Her look may have been Middle Age-classic, yet it was a popular style for the late sixties - simple, sleek and straight, When not on full display, Hussey could keep it secure by using her shoulders and ears.
While Hussey went longer and shorter with her styles several times through the years, she kept coming back to the basic look which made her famous. This Instagram photo is from a 50th-anniversary tribute in 2018. As one fan wrote simply of Hussey on social media in 2020: "She had the most amazing hair."
