Susan Lucci
BORN: 12/23/46, Scarsdale, NY
INDUCTED: 2011, 75-percent majority
Television soap operas have been a springboard to success for many actresses. But Susan Lucci remained with the series All My Children for four decades, and became a "daytime diva" like few others. Many viewers grew up watching the adventures of Erica Kane, and many Hair Fans watched to see the twists and turns of her brunette styles.
While Lucci's hair has varied in length over the years, she debuted in 1970 with this
"high school" look which fell well below the shoulders. She's added wispy bangs and varying degrees of curl since then --
also adjusting her part at times to provide variety and increase interest. Lucci also has shown skill in keeping her hair
healthy, allowing her to keep displaying longer styles well past age 60.
Lucci has used her TV fame to develop personal business ventures. A line of hair care
products called "The Susan Lucci Collection" was launched in 1991, and was offered on cable TV shopping channels for
several years. One of the Hair Fans who nominated her for the Hall of Fame said that alone was evidence of how exceptional
her hair is -- and many have delighted to be part of that sort of steamy attraction.
