Elle Macpherson
BORN: 3/29/63, Sydney, NSW
INDUCTED: 2011, Veterans Committee
Elle Macpherson took up fashion modeling to pay for law school in Sydney -- and one year in New York made a world of difference. She became Australia's contribution to a cadre of supermodels beginning in the 1980s, and became known by her fans as "The Body." For Hair Fans, that phrase also refers to a characteristic of her usually-long hair.
From magazine covers to TV appearances, Macpherson usually has kept her locks loose
throughout her career. With added waves and occasional bangs, her styles have remained fresh and attractive. While she's
not afraid to let the hair drop in her eyes on occasion, Macpherson's best looks have been set tantalizingly close to her face.
They allow the hold and bounce of her hair to be fully on display.
Macpherson has become an Australian fixture in Super-Hair's international competitions. She
nearly won World Cup II in 2006, pushing fellow Hall of Fame member Angie Everhart to extra time in the championship
match. Then she won the AAA Cup in 2009, improving on a fourth-place finish four years earlier. So it's no wonder
Macpherson was selected to host Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model. From her hair down, she's been top-notch for
decades.
