Maria Menounos
BORN: 6/8/78, Medford, MA
INDUCTED: 2006, 68-percent majority
Maria Menounos was once a contestant in the Miss Teen USA pageant, but somehow did not win. Yet she's had several successful years on television, and plenty of success at keeping long hair attractive. She's become known for using waviness for added weight and control, as well as subtle round-brushing to steer the hair away from her face.
Menounos began her reporting career with Channel One, but jumped to national attention as a
reporter and fill-in host of Entertainment Tonight. The style was usually on the straight side, but kept carefully in position
through hints of tucking behind the ears, ironing and spraying. It was no wonder movie star Vin Diesel openly swooned over
her, in a series of interviews. Menounos then moved on to Access Hollywood, where healthy waves are on display in a variety
of situations.
The success with styles has earned Menounos an endorsement contract with
Pantene -- where in one television commercial she let loose with full curls. She said in that ad she likes to have fun with her
hair. Yet her control and beauty has been serious enough to reach the 2003 Super-Hair Wars finals. We suspect many Hair
Fans enjoy seeing Menounos have fun, as long as the hair stays long.
