Debra Messing

BORN: 8/15/68, New York, NY

INDUCTED: 2003, 77-percent majority

NBC declared Will and Grace a "must-see TV" comedy in the late 1990's. For Hair Fans, the woman who played Grace certainly lived up to the title - as the curls and waves of Debra Messing quickly became one of television's most admired heads of hair.

Messing's personal stylist admits he's intentionally tried to adjust the amount of curl in her hair each season, gradually making the waves less tight. Her loose frothiness in a variety of humorous situations undoubtedly made her hair worth watching.

Yet Messing is not ashamed to straighten out her style, for attractive looks at elegant occasions such as the Emmy Awards. She also has experimented with different lengths in recent years, which could be due to the amount of straightening done on her hair.

Messing and former NBC colleague Melina Kanakaredes have engaged in one of Super-Hair's best rivalries -- the annual contest for "Best Curls." Messing won Crown Awards in 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2008 -- and she added the Best Redhead award for 2008. That track record earned Messing a place in Super-Hair's top 20 hairstyles of its first decade. In a time when straighter styles seem to be preferred by Hair Fans, she's proven there can be stunning exceptions to every trend.
