Markie Post denied in an interview that she was a "sexual siren." Yet she was one of the best examples of one of the most popular hairstyles of the 1980's. An artificial intelligence search called it "short and sassy," although she occasionally let it grow to her shoulders or below. Some might see signs of a mullet in the back.

This vidcap, perhaps from The Fall Guy, shows how Post did it. Short hair was layered, then scrunched into place with mousse and spray to go either up or back. Even when flattened (which happened in her tole on Night Court), the style was perfectly cut so it wouldn't drop in her eyes. Post developed a longer look with full bangs for the 1990s series Hearts Afire.

Post could have become a superhero in 2001. While a remake of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl never was taken by a network, the pilot showed Post with a permed short cut and bangs that would have been dramatic for Hair Fans to watch. Post kept short high-risk styles throughout her later years - delighting and thrilling viewers who supported her entering this hall.
