May 2003: Sideparts with a Twist, Page 2

Janel Moloney first tipped us off to the full-curl trend, when she appeared on the late-night talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live." This recent cover of Town & Country magazine shows the actress with a hint of it, as the right-side hair turns back (probably by wind more than anything) a bit below ear-level. On the night we watched, it was a full-circle curl that didn't bounce very much, but held temptingly well.

This photo from a Moloney fan's web site shows her usually-straight hair can take a curl well. Imagine a long, full curl near her right eye, and you'll have what we saw. (We regret we could not find any web sites with vid-caps of Moloney's twist. If you happen to have one, please pass it along to us and we'll post it.)

MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ has tried the full-curl approach as well, for fancy situations. There's a curious mix here of slightly messy on top, but curly from eye-level below. We think a little teasing at the crown would help make this more precise, and by extension a stronger style.

HOW ELSE CAN A TWIST STRENGTHEN AND IMPROVE A LONG HEAD OF HAIR?
