July 2009: Farrah, Feathers and Flips, Page 2
TRICIA HELFER portrayed Farrah Fawcett in the 2004 TV-movie Behind the
Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Charlie's Angels. The stylist seemed to get Helfer's hair right, except possibly for the
forehead where she appears to have bangs. One funny moment in this movie for Hair Fans occurred when a director told the
faux Fawcett as a fan whirred on a soundstage: "Farrah! Get your hair out of your eyes!" (Yes, it was down at that
moment.)
LISA ROBIN KELLY displayed a shoulder-length version of a Farrah on the TV comedy
That 70's Show. The shorter approach actually displays the "feathers" aspect of the style better, as the hair seems bent back
through crimping more than round-brushing. (We never watched the series to see if this style collapsed.)
HEATHER LOCKLEAR didn't use the word "Farrah" to describe this 1982 picture, when
she co-starred on the police drama T.J. Hooker. "I call this look 'dog ears,'" she told Allure in 2000. Yet it's a
professional-looking approach, compared to what Fawcett showed portraying a private investigator.
