The Ultimate 50
18. Loni Anderson
2008 Update
Anderson was a spring bride this year, marrying a longtime friend. Entertainment
Tonight was at the reception, and showed her with her classic style of recent years - shoulder-length, with protective bangs
across the forehead.
This close-up shot shows Anderson's hair very close to her right eye --
seemingly being kept out by her eyelash. But she didn't have to make any adjustments, from what we saw. She's had
brilliant hold in her style for years....
....but alas, our latest search found this picture. Even though Anderson is wearing sunglasses, a
strip of bangs appears to be a couple of inches too long. Based on the angle, we must reluctantly conclude that strip fell in
Anderson's right eye. Yet one slip in more than 25 years is a remarkable record. Consider her career (including this photo
in full) at a PX Drive photo collection.

2006 Update
It's quite hard to believe that as we post this, Anderson has just turned
60. And it's also a bit hard to believe she still has an unbeaten style -- but indeed she does. An adjustment to add bangs has
worked well for her, as shown in this vidcap from an interview on The Insider. And her hair still holds smartly around the
face.
Anderson (left) made a TV comeback in recent months, co-starring with Tori Spelling (right) on the
VH-1 series So Notorious. We did not see this series to comment on it, but at least the channel has posted a gallery of
Anderson from inside and outside the show so you can admire her current unbeaten look in its many variations.

2004 Update
Anderson tried to return to prime-time TV late in 2003 -- but sadly, it was in a lame comedy called
The Mullets. This show named after a hairdo disappeared quickly -- but thankfully Anderson didn't wear her hair that way.
This picture from TV Tome shows a style which is shorter, but still amazingly unbeatable. We watched the series when we
could, and the style refused to budge.
It's only fitting that you can admire a perfect head of Super-Hair like this at a web site called Perfect People. It has a variety of pictures, but you'll have to pick them one at a time and endure a not-so-perfect series of pop-up ads.

2002 Update
It can pay to watch "infomercials" on weekends or late at night. That's where Loni apparently
made her most recent appearance, on the Food Network and Pax-TV. This promotional photo shows hair a touch longer
than in her prime, and with layers which look quite loose. Yet they've been practically this loose and close for years, without
collapsing.
Beyond promotional items like this, Anderson's seemingly disappeared from the screen. Our thanks to a big Loni lover (a fan of her career, we mean) who seems to have the best collection of photos on the web -- great for admiring her classic style from many angles.
