The Ultimate 50

20. Maria Celeste Arrarás

HOMETOWN: Mayaguez, Puerto Rico

BORN: 9/27/60

OCCUPATION: TV anchor, author

HER BEST STYLE: She's shown us several, but we like it straight and neck to shoulder-length. Can handle bangs well, but her style clings to its position even without them.

HISTORY: When we first saw her anchoring weekend news at Univision years ago, she had a pageboy which was longer, yet well-controlled. Since becoming co-host of Primer Impacto, the style has gone up and down as if she's unsure about how long to wear it. Sometimes it's a cap, as in our "thumbnail" photo; at other times it's a "growing-out" in-between length. In any case, the critical strands near her eyes always stay in line. The woman who wrote "Selena's Secret" must have some hair-holding secrets of her own.

WHY SHE'S RANKED HERE: Although she tends to wear her hair dangerously near the eyes, it's tended to be a touch too flat for us to rank it higher. Others to come have an even greater risk.
