The Ultimate 50

3. Maren Jensen

2008 Update

What's this -- bangs on this Ultimate style? Yes, Maren displayed some on occasion. We were reminded of this at a Battlestar Galactica fan's site, which has yet another good collection of pictures from Jensen's acting career. The bangs seemed to develop from nowhere, perhaps giving warning of long hair becoming dangerously undone.

They also were well hidden in the movie Deadly Blessing - but if you watched carefully amid the hauntingly dark scenes, you could spot them. One strip is loose here, but cut to stop at Maren's eyebrows.

We shot this vidcap during the film's dramatic final moments, just before the shocking finish. Maren took two pins out of her hair after ending a house, leaving her Super-Hair as loose as it could be. From there -- well, we're thankful for YouTube. Someone has posted the entire movie, in 11 sections. We're linking to the "fight to the finish," so you can see what happens. We were left certain her Ultimate style did not fall, through it all.

Maren remains out of sight, somewhere in the U.S. But there's a web site "under construction" as we write this, claiming to be a Jensen "official site." Let's hope this serves as her way as emerging from hiding, to the praise of Hair Fans everywhere.

2006 Update

There's good and bad news about Jensen to report. First the bad news for Hair Fans: she remains in relative hiding, and we still have no current pictures to show. Some online information now indicates she left show business because of the Epstein-Barr virus.

But the good news is that her 1981 movie Deadly Blessing has emerged from obscurity, and is available on DVD from several web sites. We should note this movie was rated "R" when it was released. So if you want to zip past potentially objectionable items (even though her hair was great from start to finish, as in the photo above), go to the last ten minutes of the film. That's when the incredible clash happens -- and as you see it, ask yourself: how many Super-styles today could survive what Jensen faced there?

If you don't have DVD capability, we found a nice collection of images from that movie at a German movie web site. They include this one, with Jensen at left joined by a young Sharon Stone and fellow co-star Susan Buckner.

2004 Update

Our latest search for this Ultimate style found a disappointing web posting from July 2003: "From my best sources I found that Maren went on to get married and is now living as a single mother in the mid-west. She guards her privacy and wants nothing more to do with Hollywood."

We sincerely hope that view changes someday -- if not for Hollywood, then online supporters like us. We must settle for another Deadly Blessing rare vid-cap; the hair is only slightly messy, yet still as thick and fabulous as always. If you're after a gold mine for Maren's magnificent mane, we found it at "The Battlestar Galactica Club." Looks are free and thrilling, but downloads don't seem to be.

2002 Update

Forget about trying to find new photos of this woman. It's hard enough simply finding this woman. Maren's disappeared completely from public view -- and apparently that's how she likes it. The only clue we have is what Battlestar Galactica co-star Richard Hatch said online: she's living in the Midwest U.S. with two children. We can only hope her family appreciates her beauty as much as Hair Fans do.

While we appreciate Maren's desire to stay private, we also know many people would enjoy hearing from her -- not to mention seeing how her Super-style looks today. If you know or see her, please ask her to contact us by e-mail. We'd be honored and thrilled.

In the meantime, our online search found a very rare picture (above) from her 1981 showdown movie Deadly Blessing. (She starred ahead of some newcomer named Sharon Stone.) This looks like a bathroom scene, and shows the hair very close to her left eye - but the length is thrown back behind the shoulder, holding as strong as ever.

For pictures of Maren at her most marvelous, we highly recommend the web site of a Battlestar Galactica fan. It's a wonderful collection, showing off her hair at its best.
