Reba McEntire

BORN: 3/28/55, McAlester, OK

INDUCTED: 2024, 88-percent majority

Country music is known for women with impressive hairstyles. But very few stand out by being redheads, as Reba McEntire is. She's developed a distinctive reputation with hair as she's built a singing career which began with a family musical group in the 1970s. It became so well-known that bags of her clippings were sent to radio stations in the 1990s for giveaways.

McEntire has displayed many lengths of hair on stage, sometimes extending several inches below her shoulders. The hair once even was large and pouffy. Yet almost all her looks include bangs to keep the hair from dropping into her eyes. Indeed, while her redness seems to be enhanced with age, photos with her style collapsed are hard to find.

McEntire's experience in acting has made her a natural choice for commercials and hosting duty at country music award shows. Her hair then makes her a contender for Cutting-Edge Hair News polls for the best style of those shows. She made five of those ballots, beginning in 2005, while receiving a Crown Award nomination for Best Redhead in 2009. To borrow from one of her hit songs, "Reba" has hair that impresses far more than Every Other Weekend.
