An Indianapolis radio station's website says Stephanie Mead has "on-camera charm." It's developed and grown through a television weather career largely in the U.S. Midwest. And she's developed a long hairstyle that appears to take as much effort to prepare as a long-range forecast, yet always manages to stay under control.

Mead's first regular TV work after graduating from college was in Twin Falls, Idaho. This vidcap from early 2015 shows she had a long sidepart, with little sign of spray and perhaps a section folded in. The styling and daring placement increased as Mead moved to stations in Green Bay, Indianapolis and Detroit. The length has varied a bit, but always is below her shoulders.

A Hair Fan who saw Mead at WISH-TV in Indianapolis recommended her for the 2022 Crown Awards. She won Best Hairstyle in Weather/Science, then won two Crowns after moving to Detroit in 2023 by adding a shared Best Blonde prize. Mead also was voted #1 hairstyle in the annual Top Ten Tresses poll. The Mead mane is magnificent for Hair Fans to watch, no matter how severe outside conditions might be.
