Super-Hair's 25th anniversary was 17 Dec 24. And to mark the moment, we updated something we've done twice in the past - a countdown of whom we consider to have the 25 greatest heads of Super-Hair through those 25 years. They enter our SILVER CIRCLE to mark our silver anniversary!

Our list is based on several factors, which included open nominations for a week. Did we leave anyone out, or put some in the wrong order?



1. Judy Fortin

The undefeated top hairstyle in our "Ultimate 50" remains amazingly undefeated decades later, after years in TV news and public relations. Her perfection with a range of looks lasted more than four years in Top Ten Tresses, tied for first in our inaugural "Who's Number One Week" in 2003, received two Crown Award nominations and was Hair Fan-recommended for this list. #1 then - #1 now.

2. Bonnie Bernstein

An unmatched Hair Fan favorite, with styles escaping almost any threat whether short or long, whether on CBS or ESPN. Starting from the Ultimate 50, she won 24 Crown Awards out of 29 nominations, captured the first two Cups of the Americas, was the first person inducted in the Hair Fan's Hall of Fame and survived the Challenge of Champions six times after claiming the 2002 Super-Hair Wars title.

3. Alexandra Steele

The Atlanta meteorologist with feathered layers that look so delicate and precarious, but are really "Super-Steele" strong in hold. This Crown Award winner spent five years in Top Ten Tresses, twice winning or tying for first in "Who's Number One" week.

4. Ursula von der Leyen

Uber-flawless short hair has made the European Commission President the envy of politicians around the world. She enters the list at 54 consecutive months on our Top Ten Tresses list, and counting.

5. Carolyn Peck

From championship coach to basketball analyst, this former athlete has kept her hair undefeated for 25 years. She went from our Ultimate 50 to the first Top Ten Tresses list, where she stayed for more than six years.

6. Susan McGinnis

Her short-haired perfection especially was on display when she anchored the CBS Morning News. She's won five Crown Awards, including the first four for Best Bangs. She also spent a year in Top Ten Tresses.

7. Sam Boik

A Denver Broncos cheerleader-turned-TV personality has won seven Crown Awards since 2019, even through several style changes. She was voted Best Short Hair twice in a row, then was an unheard-of Makeover of the Year winner twice in a row.

8. Suzan Fakhoury

A freelance actress and rising physician assistant based in suburban Chicago whose medium-long natural waves always scored well in "Who's Number One Week" votes. She lasted 31 months in Top Ten Tresses and reached the 2021 Super-Hair Wars semifinals.

9. Stephanie Mead

A 2020's phenomenon, this Midwestern meteorologist and her long styles stormed into the Hair Fan's Hall of Fame this year after capturing three Crown Awards in two years. She also scored a rare shutout in the 2023 Super-Hair Wars playoffs.

10. Michelle Asselin

Proof that "ordinary people" can have Super-Hair, this beautiful Fresno, California dentist holds the record with 87 consecutive months on our Top Ten Tresses list. She's also been nominated for two Crown Awards and reached the 2013 Super-Hair Wars semifinals.

11. Samantha Ponder

ESPN could not possibly have dropped this football host because of her blonde styles. She's won 10 Crown Awards since 2014, with 18 total nominations.

12. Samantha Harris

A master of mid-length beauty and hold, the dance and entertainment news host won back-to-back Crown Awards for Best Hairstyle on Television. "Super-Sam" also spent 12 months in Top Ten Tresses.

13. Malika Andrews

At her best when strong natural curls dare you to touch them, this ESPN host is a two-time Crown Award winner with five total nominations. She also spent nearly two years in Top Ten Tresses.

14. Victoria Warren

A Hair Fan's Hall of Fame member with invincible short cuts for more thsn a decade. The Boston journalist won eight Crown Awards, along with Super-Hair World Cup IV - and after winning the 2008 Super-Hair Wars title, she fought off 13 Challenge of Champions opponents in a row.

15. Norah O'Donnell

Temptingly perfect pageboys, rarely shattered by wind, have kept this TV journalist admired for decades. She received six Crown Award nominations, spernt two years in Top Ten Tresses and inspired our "Hair Watch" section in 2003.

16. Kristi Capel

A morning TV host in Cleveland whose long waves spent more than three years on the Top Ten Tresses list during this decade. She tied for first in a 2021 "Who's Number One" contest with the reigning Miss Universe.

17. Angie Everhart

A "model" of luxurious long hair, she won three Best Redhead Crown Awards in a row. But that may have been topped by winning back-to-back Super-Hair World Cups for the U.S. in 2006 and 2010.

18. Heather Tesch

Her focus now is far Beyond, but her at-the-edge styling began when she did short-term forecasting at the Weather Channel. She won five Crown Awards with 12 total nominations, entering the Hair Fan's Hall of Fame in 2007.

19. Debra Messing

The queen of Super-curls during her early Will and Grace series, winning five Crown Awards for them in nine years (along with one more for Best Redhead). She was among the first inductees in our Hair Fan's Hall of Fame in 2003.

20. Mara Schiavocampo

Care and perfection with several short and mid-length styles earned this TV reporter and author more than six years on our Top Ten Tresses list.

21. Kelly Tilghman

A pioneering announcer on The Golf Channel whose long hair won a Crown Award in 2003, then spent more than six undefeated years on the Top Ten Tresses list. She placed first or tied for first in "Who's Number One" Week three times.

22. Victoria Azarenka

The beauty from Belarus came to fame as a tennis champion, then won 11 Crown Awards - with four coming in 2012 alone. That was also the year when she won both EuroCup and the Super-Hair Wars title.

23. Faith Hill

The country music singer was a powerhouse in Super-Hair's early years, winning the first two Crown Awards for Best Long Hair and Best Hairstyle in Music. She reached the first Super-Hair Wars finals in 2000, then entered the Hair Fan's Hall of Fame in 2007.

24. Karen Gillan

Scotland's most honored head of hair, the actress has six Crown Awards (including one tie) and 14 total nominations since 2014. She's also our Super-Roja as a five-time Best Redhead (one tie).

25. Jennifer Aniston

A favorite of Hair Fans for iconic mid-length styles, displayed from Friends to The Morning Show. The actress who's called her hair "my shield" is a two-time Crown Award winner with nine total nominations, and is in our Hair Fan's Hall of Fame.
