B.M.O.C.: Best Manes On Campus - 2024-25

#BMOC

We realize head-turning Super-Hair can be found on college campuses, so this area honors those styles. These women were part of B.M.O.C. Year 22!

FAYETTEVILLE STATE (NC): NICARI GODOY.

For the first time, we asked AI to help us find top college styles! It led to this first-year nursing major who became a student government president in high school. Her "lifestyle and beauty" TikTok videos started with this look, grew longer - and have brought her more than 113,000 "like" votes from followers. [Posted 5.15.25]

LOUISIANA STATE: FLAU'JAE JOHNSON.

You may know this junior from a series of Experian commercials. While other basketball players tie up their hair for ads, she lets the waves flow. She can handle the money flow as a business major, and she raps on the side. [Posted 5.15.25]

MISSISSIPPI: MARY KATE CORNETT.

This first-year student made national news in this term due to mean and false rumors. But we will choose to be positive - as her mid-length blonde hair looked attractive as she shared her story with NBC News. We don't know her major, but she now has close to 18,000 Instagram followers. [Posted 4.26.25]

HARTFORD: SEJAL JOHNSON.

A junior pre-med honors biology student transferred from Villanova to be a soccer goalie. That was smart - as she not only had nine shutouts this term (six in a row at the end), but her long style was voted the winner of the vacant Hartford City League title. She also proved her brains by serving as a research intern at a medical center. In short: you're not outsmarting this hair. [Posted 4.19.25]

DEPAUL: EVA GONCHAROV.

A Hair Fan recommended this senior from Toronto, who transferred from Bova Southeastern in Florida to play tennis. She plans to take this long layered look and a 4.0 brain to a major accounting firm after graduation to become a corporate tax consultant. [Posted 4.5.25]

TEXAS CHRISTIAN: MALLORY JAMES MAHONEY.

Not many college students become Crown Award nominees. But this sophomore (we think) in the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority did in this term, tying for second for Newcomer of the Year. She's likely better known for TV series such as Bunk'd with big Texas waves than attending college, but her major is sports broadcasting. [Posted 3.22.25]

KANSAS: SANIA COPELAND.

"Absolutely beautiful," a Hair Fan wrote after seeing this junior basketball starter compete in our March Mane Madness. "Thick and silky hair," the comment added. The transfer from Wisconsin whose major we don't know defeated newspaper editor Emily Harter 2-1 in our one-week showdown. [Final 3.15.25]

TULANE: SKYLAR ENSIGN.

A Hair Fan offers probably our first student-athlete specializing in beach volleyball. She's also a sophomore from southern California - and you may see a lot more of her, because this communications major did courtside reporting for ESPN+ during basketball season. (Apologies to her twin sister, who was not offered to us.) [Posted 3.1.25]

NOTRE DAME: LAUREN TARNOFF.

A graduate student from southern California who moved from Miami to northwest Indiana to keep playing volleyball. Her future is in French studies, digital marketing and/or "visual communications" - and a great "visual" of wavy long hair earned her second place in this term's South Bend City League contest. [Posted 2.15.25]

AUBURN: ABBIE STOCKARD.

The home of "Aubie" gives us Abbie - a senior nursing student who performs on the dance team. And oh yes: she reigns as Miss America 2025. Her wavy approach to strong blonde hair had to help her. [Posted 2.8.25]

ALBANY: ZOSIA SZCZOTKIEWICZ.

She traveled from Poland to Wichita State, then transferred to New York state. This senior offered by a Hair Fan is a world-level volleyball player who improved her style this past season. But we don't know her major - and we have no clue about how to pronounce her name. [Posted 2.1.25]

FRANCISCAN (OH): MARIA DE LA TORRE.

A senior who stayed close to home to major in "industrial organizational psychology" and play on the soccer team. Her long hair is industrial-strength, as she survived a four-week battle to win the Steubenville City League title. [Posted 1.25.25]

COLORADO STATE: TAYLOR PAGAN.

A sophomore who moved from south Florida to the Rockies for a university's "morals" was found by a Hair Fan who checked the volleyball team. Her major is athletic training, and her tall six-foot-one curls seem to be in great shape. [Posted 1.18.25]

SASKATCHEWAN: KAYSAH NURANI.

She and a twin sister entered college and joined the women's hockey team this season. But the student some call "Mayday" (don't ask us why) impressed us more with her hair - and the kinesiology major became the City League champion of Saskatoon. [Posted 1.11.25]

MERCYHURST: CAITLIN DUGAN.

A five-way fight turned into a four-week along Lake Erie in Pennsylvania. A freshman cross-country runner who's majoring in "Cyber Security" had the right code for strong long hair - edging Helen Bossart 4-3 in a final showdown and gaining praise for "absolutely beautiful, thick and silky hair." [Final 1.4.25]

Third through fifth place: Andrea Zaric, Maria McConnell, Tatiana Llera.

WHEELING (WV): SHELBY JAMES.

We left this senior volleyball star out of the Wheeling City League contest. We honestly thought her junior-year long style was better. Apparently we were wrong - as this homecoming queen finalist and elementary education major overpowered five other student-athletes, winning 75% of the vote. [Final 11.23.24]

Second through sixth place: Cylee Leggett-Mikayla Young tied; Cameron Enos, Nicole Lincicome, Marissa Sanchez tied.

FLORIDA: TRINITY ADAMS.

This senior who majors in marine sciences may have the longest ponytail in the Southeastern Conference. Her long waves no doubt interested the Hair Fan who offered her - and she impressed our voters so much that she was the unanimous choice in "Elite Eight Week" for this season. She transferred from Radford in her home state of Virginia to play volleyball. [Posted 11.10.24]

HUTCHINSON COMMUNITY COLLEGE (KS): TIANA SIMMONS.

A conference "Player of the Week" award attracted us to the curls of this redshirt freshman from metro Kansas City. We don't know why she didn't stay long at Chaminade (or was it Alabama State?) - but she's hitting volleyballs seriously while studying business. [Posted 11.2.24]

CHARLESTON SOUTHERN: RILEY LAUFFER.

She traveled from metropolitan Phoenix all the way to South Carolina to pitch softballs. She's trimmed her curls by a few inches since high school, but a Hair Fan was still impressed enough to nominate this redshirt junior who's majoring in education. [Posted 10.19.24]

LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN (TX): ALEXANDRA ESCAMILLA.

Does the last name ring a bell? She's the daughter of Top Ten Tresses member Krista Escamilla - a junior playing on the golf team. While we don't know her major, her long waves may be better than her mom's. [Posted 10.5.24]

TOLEDO: CAMERON COLE.

She played four sports in high school in suburban Detroit, but is focusing on soccer and engineering in her first year in Ohio. Her well-built mid-length waves almost won the Toledo City League title. [Posted 9.21.24]

OKLAHOMA STATE: LOGAN PICKELSIMER.

She plays softball, not pickleball - a sophomore catcher who's majoring in biology. She hasn't seen much game action yet, but her long waves were an 83%-winning hit in a five-way contest among teammates. [Final 9.14.24]

Second through fifth place: Audrey Schneidmiller; Kyra Aycock, Rosie Davis, Micaela Wark tied.

GRAYSON COLLEGE (TX): HALLE GIAUDRONE.

This sophomore was a second-team all-American power-hitting softball catcher in her first season. She tossed a proverbial shutout in a season-opening contest, blanking basketball player Kayla Jones 5-0 after both of them had styles which qualified for a north Texas City League tournament. [Final 8.29.24]
